About Tulip Day Tours
At Tulip Day Tours, we offer small-scale, off-the-beaten-path experiences across the Netherlands. Whether it's a walking tour through historic cities like Utrecht and Haarlem or a guided visit to renowned museums such as the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam Castle and Van Gogh Museum, our tours are designed to provide authentic insights into Dutch culture and history.
Our Story
Founded by experienced travelers in 2019, Tulip Day Tours was born out of a desire to showcase the Netherlands beyond the guidebooks.
A quiet reset
When the world paused in 2020, so did we. All tours were canceled overnight — and naturally we refunded every booking instantly. We sold our tour van and used the quiet months to reflect on what really matters. We chose a new path: small-scale, no vehicles, and private tours only — led by freelance guides from all walks of life.
Since then, we’ve kept things intentionally small — to stay personal, flexible, and respectful of every place we visit.

Tulip Day Tours is registered in Hilversum (the Netherlands). We don't have an office, because we don't need one.
All our tours take place outdoors, where the stories are. The guides that we work with are passionate freelancers from all walks of life. From students to (retired) historians, each brings their own knowledge, energy, and personal touch — making every tour unique.
